It's unlikely to have been 1981 because the only time it played in 1981 was during its premiere at the Redford theater in Detroit under its original title "Book of the Dead". It only got a distributor in 1982 after Stephen King saw it at Cannes and wrote an article about it.

Yeah, DREAMM is crazy. It appears to be very large in scope despite its fairly narrow (all LucasArts games for PC) target. So many things are required to emulate all these different PC gaming generations.

Before that a later version of AcademySoft game got included in the Tetris Gold CD-ROM collection, but Gerasimov was credited as "a Moscow teenager" on the packaging.

Hmmm... Well, I assume (if it's actually running emulated) that they had to develop a PC emulator from scratch, because it would have to conform to all the different platform requirements, so I don't see the reason to use one font over another. 🤔

That's probably the case, although seems like a bit of an overkill for this specific project. Unless they want to continue using this emulator in future projects, which is probably also the case.

Nope. My hometown is over 800 years old. Chances of being in the same place as where someone had died (or above it) are basically 100% at any given point. That's basically the case for just about every country that isn't just a couple a couple of hundred years old like the USA.

It's one of the iterations of the original PC implementation by Vadim Gerasimov - the reason the game spread outside of Moscow Academy of Sciences, and Spectrum Holobyte's PC version - the first commercial release of the game. From 1986 and 1987 respectively.
