Is it though? Modern updates come directly to your house, at fast speeds, for free, and don't require any actions except waiting. Replying to @nanoSpawn
It is the very same thing, which became the norm in filmmaking now, but surely you can't call that "no CGI" with a straight face?
Replying to @nanoSpawn
CGI is, very literally, Computer Generated Imagery. How was the imagery that is playing in said projection, especially considering that it isn't a recording but rather a real time rendering that is adjusting to the camera angle, generated?

It has a few annoying bugs, but it is very playable and obviously completable.
Replying to @NYVintageMicros
Exactly the same as in DSS, because both its sfx player code & quality of the samples don't account for anything better. Also the game doesn't support Covox out of the box, you need to run a tsr that enables it.
Replying to @NYVintageMicros
Ok, the buffer doesn't make the game sound better, it's just makes it easier to program. HOWEVER, the buffer also forces the device to a certain rate. On DSS you cannot physically produce sound at a rater different from 8Khz. On Covox you can do *whatever* as long as (cont.)
Replying to @NYVintageMicros
... the CPU allows it. Like you've seen me play a 44Khz MP3 on my Pentium 2 in that video. Games are, however, on a case by case basis. But most games don't support both devices anyway. Plus Covox design is easily cloneable, hence devices with better components than original.

The DOS port of The Bitmap Bros' Magic Pockets has this weird quirk:
In EGA mode the game is ugly when played on an actual EGA card, but EGA mode on a VGA card uses a new custom palette, but the colors are different from 16 colors from in actual VGA mode

They technically are, but not in the 320x200 mode. You can't change the palette in this mode.
Replying to @Pixelmusement
Oh, it's very easy. You literally just change the first colors of the VGA palette. But this person still needed to work out another 16 color palette, and program a function in. I mean, it's cool, but not a lot of edge cases for it tbh.
Replying to @DeusExMachina69 and @Pixelmusement
But EGA can't do that. The support would have to be added on a VGA machine.
