More or less, yes.

No. Not everyone is behind the political elite. And you might want to look up the anti-Putin protests that's been going on for years. If you haven't seen any, it's because you chose not to look into the matters, and that's on you.

There's always something about 3D games that try to be "cinematic". It always feels like amateur hour compared to the movies. A combination of elements. VO recorded separately in booths, pauses that are too long, characters telling you about keys or quests. Breaks the immersion.
Replying to @dosnostalgic
That's why I dislike Max Payne 3 so much. It might be an alright game, but it stops every 2 minutes and Rockstar try to prove that they can attempt to somewhat poorly copy Tony Scott's Man on Fire, a not particularly complicated film in the first place.
Replying to @dosnostalgic
And also that's why I think someone should give Kojima a ton of money to make a movie, and leave him to do whatever he wants. The result is gonna be both epic and ineptly hilarious because his shtick can not possibly feel organic if transposed onto real human beings.
Replying to @staticme5h
It can, but Kojima is no Lynch. If you read his book all his inspirations are basically big 80s Hollywood hits and 70s Japanese movies. That's what he aspires to. Considering what actually comes out of that, I doubt we'd get anything so deliberate.

I'm just glad I still often make it into these lists.
I am always on the lookout for some DOS-related videos. If you make them, please post about them on here. Even better if you tag it with #DOSGaming or #MSDOS or something I can find. (I mean the best option is just to tweet *me* about it, but that's a bit of an overkill.)

Replying to @SveinFrodeG
What device are you using to output data to the CM-300? Because it does make sense since by default DOS games just pipe out MIDI to port 330, so as long as you have a device on the ISA bus, it should just work.
(Not in Wolf 3D though, since it doesn't use MIDI.)
A very good question, actually. Do I have any zoomer followers on here? https://x.com/DUSKdev/status/1719000615685079207
Replying to @SveinFrodeG
Yeah, that's not MIDI. That's OPL3 music on Vibra's OPL chip on port 338. Same with Sound Blaster sound. Just raw port 220 output. If it's on your ISA, then it just works. The games essentially have "drivers" built in, if we're simplifying what's happening a bit.

I would argue that it is quite a bit more than a graphical UI as it could do things DOS couldn't even dream of, and had everything of its own that a proper OS needed to have, but it indeed couldn't boot without DOS, it never unloaded DOS & occasionally called to it.
Replying to @DarthPuffMaN, @MarkAG_Gooch and @Zero4Hero2
For example Here's Win 3.x running in 640x480 256 color SVGA protected mode while having two real mode DOS games open in separate windows. One in 640x350 EGA, one in 320x200 VGA. Just a gui it is not.
Replying to @DarthPuffMaN, @MarkAG_Gooch and @Zero4Hero2
Eh. I guess that's true, but in my mind it's more of an OS than DOS ever was. It's orders of magnitude more complicated & feature rich. The fact that it calls to another OS for some io stuff really shouldn't disqualify it so much. It's an unholy union that worked out.
