Watched a doc about the making of Kids (1995) featuring a bunch of bit part kids from the movie. As with everything Kids-related, it's a big off. They all agree that they've been exploited for the movie & they undoubtedly were. Nice to see them as adults w/ kids of their own tho.
Replying to @dosnostalgic
However, the movie also leans into that the people who actually got famous (besides Cark and Korine) done so because they were cast as the leads. I don't buy that. Leo Fitzpatrick is hardly an A-lister. Rosario Dawson is by far the most famous, & she's in the movie for one scene.

As someone who had Vista running on multiple machines for over a decade, I disagree. This also isn't about the OS, but the hardware specs.
Windows Vista was perfectly fine. Not sure why everyone acts like it killed their parents or something. Most features it introduced that people bitched about became a complete norm and are present in every subsequent version, and everyone is fine and happy with them.

A kind soul sent me the American version of Luc Besson's 1988 film "The Big Blue," one of my biggest guilty pleasures. I've never seen this version before. It's 50 minutes shorter than the extended cut, has a tacked on happy ending, and is completely rescored by Bill Conti.
Replying to @dosnostalgic
Before I was under an impression that they had Conti rescore the film because the edit must have been very different. But that turned out not to be the case! Now I'm really not sure why this happened. Both scores are synth. 🤷♂️ Here's a comparison:
Replying to @dosnostalgic
The choice is doubly confusing because Conti very clearly uses Serra's score as a guide, and occasionally even reuses motifs from it. Why was this somehow necessary for American audiences?!

Anyway, Serra's score for the film is pretty damn amazing. I'm not sure why some people swear by Conti's version, but I'm just gonna assume it's probably because of nostalgia for what they saw first.
