After the first act I was getting worried. I maybe chuckled a couple of times, but most jokes didn't land. I was saying recently that there aren't any badly shot movies anymore. Well, I was proved wrong. Clerks 3 does not look great. >>
Replying to @dosnostalgic
>> Second act is essentially a recreation of Clerks. With some extremely deep cuts for View Askew fans. Bob Hawke gets a cameo, for example. But all of the recreations are *shockingly* spot on, and they get *everyone* they can to appear 30 years later.
Replying to @dosnostalgic
But then the third act happens. As far as I'm concerned, that's the movie. There's a monologue that made the entire audience freeze & pay attention. O'Halloran fucking *killed* it. I'm on the same wavelength as Smith when it comes to schmultzy drama, so I was *in*.
Replying to @dosnostalgic

But gosh, is it fun. Besides the writing, what I'm most impressed is the technical stuff, which is quite a surprise for a point & click adventure. It just *feels* good to play. Mechanically. It's fast & ultra responsive. And the music is dynamic! Very much Monkey 2-style.

It's been a long time since I've laughed out loud so much while playing a videogame. 😂😂😂😂
Replying to @dosnostalgic
"Trombone Champ" is genius. It's never fun to fuck up in rhythm games. But here it's like the main mechanic. Screwing up leads to laughter, which in turn makes it even harder to play. An incredibly emotional experience.
