It's a $20 budget game. A more polished continuation of a damn good total conversion. It's not a run and gun fps, nor was it meant to be. If played like an underdeveloped sim of sorts, it plays well. Its levels are HUGE and fairly detailed consider what it's trying to pull off.

For some reason for intros and video comment sections they just used old shit digitized from tape. It was jarring even then. Because the actual episodes were all new, and I would argue in a sense better animation than the current show. They weren't rigged ToonBoom models.

Chances that DOS runs your current version of Windows are pretty close to 0, unless you're maybe running Windows from 20+ years ago, & even then it wasn't technically the case, you just needed DOS to boot Windows. Windows kernel provides all disk & memory operations now.

It's not. The screenshot you posted is a Windows bootloader, which is not a DOS, and process separate from Windows, but still a part of the package. When you press enter it launches Windows Recovery, which is its own OS called WinPE, also not a DOS.

MicroProse released a couple of "jukebox" programs for their games. You drop them in a game's directory, and they play music using your selected driver. Pretty neat. I hope more games have them. So far I only found ones for Darklands and Colonization. #DOSGaming

I was gonna mention that tools that are made to teach assembler, and show the states of the virtual CPU registers as well as memory for better illustration, exist and are better than running a complete emulated VM are most likely available, but I ran out of room.

It's literally in Overland's answer, if you actually read it. A clone of CP/M that Paterson wrote - QDOS/86-DOS, is exactly what Microsoft licensed, then hired Paterson to port from 8086 to 8088, and put out as PC-DOS/MS-DOS. Paterson wrote the majority of the 1st version himself

That's an interesting one because it was made in 83, but wasn't seen til 86.
So I would absolutely recommend using this if you want to play online DOS multiplayer games without source ports. Easy to set up, configure, and play. Just makes life easier.
