C) I your PoP example, and there are emulators that give users options for a more accurate representation
Replying to @HeilmannTill
Like here, "TV or a computer monitor". That covers a huge amount of ground. Sometimes *vastly* different. So there is no certain answer everyone will agree on. Just certain approaches are, I guess, more authentic than others. But again, it depends.

I just played Mac Dark Forces last night, and it certainly doesn't have better music, since music in DF is just MIDI, so you could get better music out of it than anything Mac could. What it surprisingly does have is a fully featured OPL emulator to match basic AdLib PC music.

"General MIDI" is a data storage/transmitting protocol. It's not a device. What you've heard in the clip in also General MIDI. My point was that music in PC version isn't any one thing (apart from the OPL2/3 Sound Blaster player), it highly depends on the device.
Replying to @HeilmannTill
This has been debated since post-CRT era began. Personally, I just think noting the method of a screenshot/video capture is important. The rest is on a case by case basis. If the topic relates to art pipelines, display methods, etc. then it becomes more important.

As far as are there articles, I guess, depending on what you're looking for. Just do a search from "what games looked like on a CRT" and you'll see plenty of people writing about it. "Composite video" helps too. These are the articles I often have to "fight off" in way.

I don't think the game supports any music beyond an OPL2. The ad is a misprint. Pretty sure a whole bunch of games did actually support AdLib Gold in a sense that you could select it in a setup program, but they wouldn't do anything special with it beyond regular OPL2/3 stuff.
This is a genre I wish would come back, BUT with some major refinements. Surely someone can make an isometric exploration adventure that *doesn't* attempt to kill the player on every screen. The poster is from 1982 though.
The Evil Dead release dates are always kind of weird.
- The movie was finished in 1981 (and shown once as "The Book of the Dead")
- This poster is post-Cannes of 1982
- It was picked up, and disturbed theatrically in 1983 (in the U.S. by New Line Cinema.) https://x.com/1carolinagirl/status/1541364702499987457

He does mention that he already went to Delphine at that point (why wouldn't he?), but I guess he was still shopping it around afterwards. In the end he signed with Delphine because, he says, they gave him a complete creative freedom as long as he could make the release date.

Year 1998 was arguably one of the best years in videogame history. But what about DOS games? Sadly, it was the final year when more than a couple of DOS games could still be found of store shelves. So let's take a look at the end of big #DOSGaming era:
