Redneck Deer Huntin' (MS-DOS, 1998) #DOSGaming
Interplay and Xatrix's attempt to capitalize on the genre created by Deer Hunter.
Improvements on original game:
- 3D maps (Build engine)
- 2 types of ammo for each of 5 weapons
- Ducks, turkeys, & boars in addition to deer
- "Humor"
Replying to @dosnostalgic
The result is mostly dull and annoying, as the maps are largely just flat open spaces, and the overly cautious animals have the ability to run beyond the bounds, only to spawn somewhere else later. "Humor" courtesy Leonard from Redneck Rampage is toned down, and just not funny.

Update on retail sales of Quake:
A PC Data chart that provides no units, but places Quake on #6 most sold in November and December of 1996.

They are absolutely aware that it isn't a legal thing. I'm not against piracy, but there doesn't need to be another word for it just to justify it somehow. Any moral justification isn't gonna make it legal. Let's just call it what it is: distribute it because the owners won't.

"Looks like it's abandonware at this point" implies that there's some kind of an agreed definition for it with a time frame of some kind, which there isn't. How long before something becomes "abandonware"? Does the rights holder have to not exist anymore or no? Who decides it?

It's been a while, but I think it adds scanlines when you play in a 2x window.
So Paul Verhoven's new movie is... very much a Paul Verhoeven movie. It's equal parts elevated and trashy. It touches on controversial topics. It uses its explicitness for both sexual imagery, and to be disturbing. It is occasionally violent. All performances are BIG.
Replying to @dosnostalgic
At the same time I felt that it was a retread for Verhoeven. If you've seen his non-Hollywood films, you'll recognize many familiar elements. It also establishes very early what reading of the story it's gonna give you, and it doesn't play with an alternate possibility enough.
Replying to @dosnostalgic
But it does kind of make me want to read Verhoeven's book on Jesus. Anyone here checked it out? Is it interesting?

Halo - Microsoft
Oni - Rockstar
Myth - depending on which one, Eidos/Atari.
