It was a better attempt at making an actual game than Complete Waste of Time or Holy Grail, but holy shit. I did beat with a help of a guide that I think gave instructions to hex edit a save file to get an item near the end. Also was neat to see unused movie bits at the time.

The only crappy thing about Max Payne is that it automatically adjusts enemy reaction time/accuracy based on how well you're doing, meaning you'll eventually get to the point where the later enemies can just one shot your ass as soon as you turn the corner. But it is still fun.

Standard disk image is a low level recording of the data & its location on the disk, to a degree determined by the format.
Flux image is extremely low level, it is essentially the actual flux signals read by the drive.

Bethesda owns the Keen ip as well as the name "Commander Keen". However, Keen Dreams was owned by Softdisk, eventually ending up at Flat Rock Software, where Javier bought it from. Not licensed, but actually bought with crowdfunded money ($3 grand.) So now he owns it outright.
