So I've tried the new Battletoads thanks to the XBox Game Pass, and... it's not for me. Not because of its style, which I actually liked, but because apparently beat em ups got much more complex since I've last played them. I honestly just couldn't figure it out.

It's very cool, especially considering it's a first feature, but as his career went on, I became more fond of Anderson's most flamboyant works (as seen in my list), and Bottle Rocket is very grounded. It's also very uneven. You can tell he's beginning to form a style.

I feel like The Darjeeling Limited is Anderson's only misfire. But his films aren't for everyone. When I go see them in theaters, there are usually no more than 3 other people in attendance. Unless it's The Grand Budapest Hotel. That one actually made money.

Apparently while staying in his house avoiding Covid, Stephen Soderbergh reedited 3 of his films. "Kafka" is reportedly *very* different from the original version, while "Schizopolis" and "Full Frontal" are tighter edits. Honestly I want to see all three.

Schizopolis is one of my favorite Soderbergh films, and despite the fact that I love all of it, including the deleted scenes, it could use a shorter version that flows better. Basically the same for Full Frontal.
