It's an incredible technical achievement, but I sort of have to question of spending $100 mil on a stop motion film is a wise idea. I assume a chunk of it was CG work involving removing of additional rigs in all the shots because of how complicated the whole thing was.

The team was in Paris. The team was Eric, two guys who did levels for Flashback, the guy who did art in Flashback, and the guy who did the PC port of Another World. That's it. Other people came in for some 3D modelling and animation for cutscenes, and sound & music obviously.

You mean Delphine? Nothing much happened. They kept making games that weren't particularly great, & eventually the company was shut down in 2004. A lot of the people who worked in Delphine still work in the industry. Most of the band got back together for Flashback remake in 2013

Yes, I think Flashback is rather overrated for many reasons. It has a nice opening and everything, which is what most people remember about it, but by the end you just wish it was over already. And the levels are full of all kinds of bullshit.

Yes, and no. Quake's palette has very few basic colors because it dimmed them 16 steps, and the whole thing was 8 bit. But those color choices didn't have to be brown, they were chosen.

The only choices with MOTP is fullscreen/widescreen. There's really no preference here, as it was reframed during the production, so some stuff looks better in 4x3, other in 16x9. It was widescreen in theaters.

Well, something to that extreme was only possible at the time, yes, but Soviet censorship didn't require USSR to be depicted as a utopia. Critique of incompetent local leadership was common in comedy films, and hard social themes in dramas weren't looked down upon either.

Looks like it's a 4236B. It does indeed sound different from an OPL3, although I didn't do much testing yet, but not as different as, let's say, SBLive, which is what I was using before. I have an OPL3LPT and a RadLib, if anything.

Just dynamic music. It wasn't all that common, with Lucasarts's iMuse system being the most well known one, followed by Origin's one. It was a bit easier to do back in the day because music was synthesized by the sound card, instead of being pre-recorded.

PC port of Another World is all kinds of impressive. Manages smooth framerate on lowest specs, and can bitbang 5/11Khz pcm sound on PC Speaker. Or even AdLib!

First, and BIGGEST difference is controls. Multiple unit selection and contextual commands are KEY.
Second is factions that different not only in cosmetic ways.
Third is AI that doesn't cheat as much.
