Ion Maiden has reloading in the same way Duke 3D or Doom 2 have reloading. This isn't what I'm talking about.
Replying to @Slot1Gamer
What? Who says everything has to be the same? Or is? There's a reason "90s style fps" games are coming back, and that reason is design principles have changed. If *one* fps game per 10 new ones adheres to old principles, it's neither "not fun" nor about "living in the past".

"Streamlined" doesn't mean the same as "simplified". Not a bad thing, but it's not quite the same as far as gameplay goes. While Prey keeps the complexity intact.

Replying to @dosnostalgic
So far Prey has been a lot closer to that. I'm already out of inventory space. Ammo for firearms is scarce. Direct confrontations with even trivial enemies result in big losses. All this brings Prey close to System Shock 2. BioShock wasn't that, very much intentionally.
Results are in. This was just a test of how unappreciated Clancy Brown was. The answer is: very.

Replying to @georgewood
Who? Wes Craven?
Replying to @mcclure111
It was tinted ever so slightly, varied from scene the scene. There were green props and part of sets that stood out. But around 2003 when the sequels were coming out new masters were made that just slapped a layer of green over EVERYTHING to the point that it was ridiculous.
Replying to @dosnostalgic

Replying to @dosnostalgic
This video is terrible because it pushes both contrast and brightness, so it's not actually representative of either of the sources, but at least it can give you the idea of HOW MUCH this movie was changed for the previously used master https://youtu.be/gtktg9hbC_g

Yes, I know why it was done. It was also done *poorly*. As a professional colorist I'm sure you can appreciate the movie not being ruined. There are few shots in the 2004 version that had me screaming because it was obvious someone spent 5 sec on it & moved on.

Yes, the game is being sold. That has nothing to do with me.

I have better things to do, but okay. First we gotta sort a few things out. So, do you think this game is:
a) Actual DOOM. Meaning it uses the DOOM engine, as it was as of 1997, and changed up some graphics
OR
b) a completely different technology, but uses DOOM's graphics?
Replying to @CallingShoRai
Ok, I need some clarification here: Do you think that the chaingun assets & animations in Wolfenstein and DOOM are the same?

And Sister Street Fighter is a pretty legit martial arts flick. Worth it.

Could you? I don't really remember. I know you could in Shadow Warrior.

Still looking for recommendations for good multiplayer VR games (that aren't MMO.) I have two Oculus devices in my household, and yet we have nothing to play together.
Replying to @dosnostalgic
Echo Arena is petty great for a laugh in multiplayer, but sometimes I'm just not in the mood for a bunch of dudes humping each other's faces while they describe in detail what they are going to do to each other's mothers.
Replying to @prdarkfox
I mean, I'm kind of asking for games that are currently available.

I would totally pay for a new version of Blood with these sprites: https://x.com/dosnostalgic/status/693934034989248513?s=19

How about Dune 2 on Genesis?
RT @AndrewASink: Finally got around to 3D printing the Vorticon from Commander Keen that I modeled months ago! Came out perfect! CC: @romer…
I remember being completely appalled by the movie when I first saw it. Right from the get go when Fievel said his favorite book was The Brothers Karamazov. NO KID'S FAVORITE BOOK IS THE BROTHERS KARAMAZOV!!! https://x.com/AgustinCordes/status/1002347154789355525

I'm sort of craving a brainless Hollywood action film preferably starring an awful person. Hmmmm.... Under Siege?
Replying to @dosnostalgic
Yeah, I think Under Siege it is.
Replying to @BTexans
Arnold is a not as awful of a person as Seagal though. And I didn't mean their acting.
Replying to @dosnostalgic
Remember when Above the Law came out, and Ebert was endlessly praising Seagal? Yeah, that happened!
Replying to @dosnostalgic
Seriously, read the review. Ebert spends less time reviewing the movie that he does reviewing Seagal himself http://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/amp/above-the-law-1988
Replying to @BTexans
To the very least, Arnold doesn't kill strangers' dogs.
Replying to @mcclure111
But Stallone isn't that awful of a person. Or did you mean Woods?

I personally think that QFG is Sierra's best series, and most people aren't admitting the same mostly because of their nostalgia for [insert name] Quest.
Replying to @expectproblems and @PushinUpRoses
QfG games always felt tightly designed, when many of Sierra's titles short of felt mostly made up as they went along (especially Space Quest)
Replying to @PushinUpRoses and @expectproblems
Yeah, that's exactly what I meant. I didn't discover QfG till way later in my adventure gaming years, and as blown away by the series.
Replying to @PushinUpRoses and @expectproblems
First game is probably the worst when it comes to that.
Replying to @pripyatbeast
Pretty sure it's not stated so anywhere on the box or the game's title screen ;)
Replying to @mcclure111
I think by this point my mind is set on Seagal.
