Over the past couple of years I've seen a few indie shooters imitate Wolf 3D corridor style. Still waiting for DOOM/Quake ones.
Corridor shooters are nice and all, but let's face it, there are only that many single floor mazes one can take in one sitting.
Btw, I think it's possible to make a corridor only game that's great, I just think that it has to be a bit more varied in gameplay.

Personal experiences: I always loved Borland products. The ui, the help, the examples, everything was great. And fast.
I love the fact that one could use Turbo Debugger in conjunction with Turbo Pascal or C and it would show you the high level code.
And now my suspicions that Turbo Pascal was used to teach programming in many class rooms around the world are confirming.
That being said, I'm so fucking glad I never have to touch Turbo Pascal ever again. Nothing to do with Borland, I just hate Pascal.

Dizzy games were always super hardcore. Treasure Island only gave you ONE life.
Privateer had a file TABTNE.VDA, which is ADVENT.BAT backwards. You could rename, run it & play a little text adventure game. #DOSGaming

Just remembered that I had an unfinished game of Max Payne 2 sitting on my hard drive since last year.
And that's Max Payne 2 done. Time to listen to Late Goodbye.
I love Max Payne 2. Although once you figure out you can just play it in what I call "Robocop mode", the action becomes a bit meaningless.
And by Robocop mode I mean just turn on slomo, don't let the enemy fire and just keep running towards them chaining kills together.
It's extremely satisfying, but not exactly a game of skill like the first game where you slowed down during slomo just like your enemies.
Apart from a few nitpicks, I do think that the second Max Payne game is better and more fun though.
And it looks damn good for a game that almost 13 years old.
