The best part of Phantasmagoria is the splitting head effect. I'm not joking.
That effect is better executed than anything else in that game.
Replying to @demodulated
yeah, I was caught of guard by a competent effect in that game. Demon ripping get face off is good too, but not as effective.
If you're working on an FMV game, please PLEASE avoid showing people going through doors, waking towards things, slowly looking around, etc.
Replying to @demodulated
Nah. In movies you almost never see people travel. Long actions are almost always edited to appear quicker.
Replying to @demodulated
Phantasmagoria is a great example of what not to do. My "favorite" bit is when she walks down the spiral staircase for the

Replying to @demodulated
Yes, and that's why something like Simon the Sorcerer is damn near intolerable. Most Sierra games had a speed setting.

Replying to @AveTory
Yeah, probably censored in places. But you can probably find a version with the Soviet dub that uses voice over for missing parts.

I was watching Fantomas trilogy like that the other day. Not a lot was cut out of those.

It's very James Bond-y. Even the look. And they refer to "gadgets" even in the dub. De Funes is the best.

Alexei Silaev's Babytype was probably one of the most intense things I played in a class:
I really dig Silaev's style.
He managed to put so much care into his 640x350 EGA 1-pallete only graphics.

Mechwarrior wasn't the first BattleTech DOS game though. Westwood's RPG The Crescent Hawk's Inception was. #MorningDOSTalk
It's rather strange that almost nobody talks about EarthSiege nowadays. #MorningDOSTalk A very solid game with cool sequels.
What was the name of that early network deathmatch game with two mechs in a maze, Dungeon Master-style? #MorningDOSTalk

Interesting. They are very different games actually.
It's rather interesting that Westwood's Crescent Hawk's Inception & Crescent Hawk's Revenge are rather different games.
Inception is very much a great old school RPG, but Revenge was an awesome strategy!
