No, no, no! That's just me telling myself to not try to fuck around with 3D again. One more test project that'll for sure go nowhere.
I'm awful at prioritizing. Can I ever finish one of the million things I'm playing around with? I don't think I can...
Like I have a short term Android project. But then I can do a DOS review in a few days. And a 3D test in a day or two...
But then maybe I should finish the reviews I started last year, after all a chunk of work is done already. There's this animation thing too.
And, of course, there's this rather large programming project that I'd really LOVE to finish one day, but keep putting off...
Fuck, I'm so disorganized!
All I ever finish are the small tests I do when I get excited about something. I have a million & a 1/2 of them. Learned smth new every time
I really should get on that Android thing though. At the moment it's the most exciting thing I'm doing. But the 3D idea is calling me...

Replying to @domcom360
Indeed. And then some wonder why the movies have gotten so shitty over the last decade.
Watched GTA5 trailer. The graphics are amazing. That's about it. I really have no interest in it beyond that.
How much would something like that cost though?
Replying to @ben_304
I really haven't cared for GTA since Vice City. 4 took it in the wrong direction by not rewarding you for just fucking around.
Well, games now cost more than $100 mil, so they are heading in the same direction as movies, an industry games tried 2 imitate for years.
Basically next gen consoles will only bring bland games that you have already played a million times. Just like all the movies are shit now.
Indie distributing platforms will only feature to choices & publisher-backed projects, just like movies. Big indie releases aren't indie.
Replying to @djbriandamage
It's budgeted at $137 mil currently
I don't want "a Citizen Kane of games". I want Antichrist of games, Evil Dead of games, Y Tu Mama Tambien of games, Slacker of games.

I was entertained by Pacific Rim, but two weeks ago I payed $17.50 to see Man of Steel. It wasn't worth it.
New Thief... It's half Dishonored, half Uncharted... Get the fuck out!
I can BARELY justify paying almost 18 bucks for a movie that's entertaining, but I can't justify $40-$50 for a game I probably won't finish.
Why am I saying all this? I don't know! Because that damn GTA trailer pissed me off! Because I'm paying 4 way too many shitty movies lately.

Jack Of All Trades is a great show. It's extremely corny and full of innuendo & slapstick. Also it was made specifically for Bruce Campbell.

Calling all collectors of obscure: There was this weird metroidvania "Fortune Cookie" by Midas. Had anyone ever actually seen it?
I know the 1999 Canadian release has finally surfaced a couple of years ago, but I refuse to believe that it didn't come out anywhere else.
The reason for it being that Russian company Doka released an adapted version of it as "On The Hills Of Manchuria" in 1997.
Replying to @AveTory
I have the CD
It was a cute little Windows game. The Russian version was changed A LOT. I'm interested in the original.

... gameplay is based around talking to aliens using pictograms & trying to figure out their peculiarities of communication.

The Diamond Arm also had unusually good cinematography for a Soviet comedy. In scope & everything.
Replying to @AveTory
Also The Diamond Arm often uses on-set recorded sound! I don't know how that happened. Can't think of many Soviet films like that.
Replying to @AveTory
I also know that a lot of materials were saved because I've heard the original audio from one of the few censored moments.

It was "maybe your husband, in secret, is visiting a synagogue." later to be dubbed with "a lover."

Replying to @AveTory
Sound has nothing to do with film. Sound is recorded separately. That's why the clapper is there, to sync up the sound in post.
Replying to @AveTory
Recording sound & editing in post is only up to skill. Everything was done by hand anyway.
Replying to @AveTory
Yeah, I heard it somewhere long time ago. That's understandable since musical numbers were recorded prior to filming.
Replying to @AveTory
I think it's common knowledge. It all comes from limited technology. And since the medium is still rather young not much changed.
