Honestly, the Catacomb games were the only Wolf 3D clones I cared for. Because they offered some really cool features. Such as:
Great use of EGA, cool graphical effects such as lightning or animated walls (especially on water levels), hub levels, weird monsters.
Honestly, about the only thing I REALLY don't like about the Catacomb games is the field of view angle. Feels off. And turning is slow.

The whole Catacombs thing is on GOG now, but unfortunately the games rely on screen border flash to indicate damage. DosBox doesn't have it.

Good morning, people of Earth! (If u'r in fact NOT from Earth, please accept my apology & good morning 2 u as well) Its #MorningDOSTalk time
And today on #MorningDOSTalk I'd like to discuss the awesome developers that were Westwood Studios.
RT @ben_304: @dosnostalgic Kyrandia. C&C. Red Alert. Dune 2. LoL. EotB. The list goes on!
So yeah, let's get the famous ones put of the way first. Eye of the Beholder series is a great line of dungeon crawlers.
RT @ben_304: @dosnostalgic Command & Conquer is the entire reason I wanted to make games. I always wanted to make RTS games as a kid.
RT @richardcobbett: @dosnostalgic Eye of the Beholder 3 also invented the goatse. http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/eye-of-the-beholder-iii-assault-on-myth-drannor/screenshots/gameShotId,6581/
Dune 2 might not have technically been the 1st real time strategy, but that was the game that established the genre as we know it.
Command & Conquer took Dune 2, improved on it a little & then things haven't really changed to this day. Dune 2 established the RTS.
Replying to @JohannAffendy
Amazing game, not by Westwood though.
The Legend of Kyrandia series are extremely good looking and sounding games. Second one is a great adventure.
Replying to @djbriandamage
It'll be there for the rest of your life. Trust me.
First Kyrandia game hadn't aged well. But it's still pretty. Third one... Oh man, do I hate the shitty 3D backgrounds. Why, oh why???
Replying to @ben_304 and @hardistymark
Exactly. Windows had DOS way past 95, but I'd like to see you run Blade Runner in it.
Lands of Lore series was much more adventure-puzzle-story oriented than Eye of the Beholder. Always lagged behind technologically a bit.
RT @ben_304: @dosnostalgic But so beautiful! Look at the guy I just encountered! http://i.imgur.com/7VqBouc.png
But besides those series Westwood developed a bunch of less known titles. #MorningDOSTalk
Their A Nightmare On Elm St. game is not very good, based directly on the third film & extremely obscure.
BattleTech: The Crescent Hawk's Inception is a mech RPG! Hell yeah! http://www.mobygames.com/game/battletech-the-crescent-hawks-inception
I've already mentioned DragonStrike the other day. Admittedly, it's not very good, but IT'S A FUCKING DRAGON FLIGHT SIM!!!
Circuit's Edge is kind of like a cyberpunk Lands of Lore. It's actually pretty good, despite not looking as good as other Westwood titles.

Replying to @ben_304
What's next on your Build list, btw?
Their Lion King game is alright. #MorningDOSTalk
A bit of Windows love: Westwood's version of Monopoly is THE SHIT! Love that one.
RT @ben_304: @dosnostalgic I think the C&C games were the first time I ever saw FMV cutscenes in a game. Really added to the feel of it all…
One thing for sure: Westwood probably had the best art in games in the early 90s. Every game was gorgeous.
And I dare anyone to try to sound as dull as the girl in the Dune 2 opening.
