Evil Dead 1 stole everything from Equinox. Raimi's films are superior.
Replying to @AgustinCordes and @AveTory
Not sure about House since it came out only months before 2 was in production & I'd like 2 think the script was done
Replying to @AgustinCordes and @AveTory
However, influences from Equinox are really apparent in 1 with many things "borrowed".
Replying to @AgustinCordes and @AveTory
Anyway, Raimi's films are amazingly creative. Visually. First 15 min of ED2 are more intense than the entire House.
Replying to @AgustinCordes and @AveTory
This one: http://m.imdb.com/title/tt0091223/
Replying to @AgustinCordes and @AveTory
That's what I'm saying. ED2 was shot during the summer of 86. House came out in Feb.
Replying to @AgustinCordes and @AveTory

Scanners: The Game. Opening sequence. Toronto. Night. A store robbery in progress. A cop has you in his gun sights.

Replying to @AveTory
That's not America's problem. Most guns involved in out shootings are legally purchased.
Replying to @AveTory
Both, of course. This is America, you're entitled to killing a person in self defense. With a gun(s) that you legally own.

Good point. My point is that a person probably shouldn't be allowed to acquire five firearms in a very short period of time.

Movie watching audiences never fail to disappoint me. "Cloud Atlas is complex and smart, you need to think while watching it"
Same with Inception a couple of years ago. I really like both, but does not having gigantic robots punching each other make a film "smart"?
The case with Inception was especially surprising since it's full of usual Nolan's exposition in every scene.
And by that I mean the dialogue is mostly "That's what we're doing, that's why we're doing it and this is what's going to happen."

As much as i love Duke3D, I still think Doom 2 has the best levels of all 90s shooters.
Replying to @PrinceOfBrains and @citchmook
I love 'em. On the other hand replaying Duke in 1 sitting last year really made shortcomings stand out.
I completely forgot that there were a Tom Savini and a George A. Romero documentaries in the making. Did they get released yet?
Just got done with the introductory chapter of John Dies At The End. Holy shit, I love it! The movie now has a lot to live up to now.
I just hope Coscarelli keeps the narration this time because it's hilarious. Although Bubba Ho-Tep worked just fine without one.
"Ma'am, if the dog's been dabbling in the occult while in your ownership, it's best you tell us now." John Dies at the End is hilarious
Bought Another World for Android (99c sale). I don't even know how many versions of the game I own now. Maybe 10...
Replying to @ShotupSpeako
I'm now aware, and it looks like it's going to be the next book I read. I hope the movie turns out good.
Replying to @djbriandamage
idk, I'll let you know when i get a chance to actually play it.

What film?
Replying to @AveTory
I actually like that one quite a bit. You gotta be in a certain mood for it.
Replying to @AveTory
It IS quite pretentious and drags often, but I think most of the emotions are coming through rather clearly.
Ok, so did anyone actually SEE the Win16 version of Another World? With MIDI tracks for music? I now doubt that it even exists.
Replying to @citchmook
Can't remember now, but there are traces of it on the net. Russian based Maddox Games (MadSpace, IL-2) handled the port.
Replying to @mmustapic
Most of the versions of Another World with music in them are terrible, but I'm still interested in them. For completion's sake.

About to relax, have Christmas dinner and watch the freshly-pirated Cloud Atlas with my mother.
If I could watch Cloud Atlas at this moment in time without pirating it, trust me, I would have done it. #NotApologizing4Piracy
Finished John Dies at the End. 1st half is an obvious movie, 2nd half with it's heavy changes in tone would be difficult to execute.
I won't make any 2012 game top because I simply haven't played enough games that came out this year. I DID like Hotline Miami a lot though.
Hell, I won't even make a list of top movies, although I've seen plenty of those this year (as always). Very few of them were actually good.
This is my tweet number 6,000!!! YYyyeeeeaaaahhh bitches! #PointlessTweet #MerryChristmas

Starting to read This Book is Full of Spiders. The expectations are high. And I will be taking my time, since there isn't a movie coming out
Who's not hung over after the holiday? Got any ideas for #MorningDOSTalk ? Throw them my way!
Now I just need to find the time to see Django Unchained. It seems that Tarantino managed to rip off even more 70s stuff than usual.
Replying to @AveTory
I did. Back in the Motherland. It sucked.

the connection to the game is rather loose from what I remember.

I recommend it. Lots of fun.

Agreed. It's a shame I've never finished Dark Corners...

Woke up sick. I think it's time to leave work, go home, have a hot cup of tea and watch John Dies at the End.
Replying to @AgustinCordes
It's pricey, but I'm in anyway. I'd be watching it right now if Amazon didn't screw me over. :(
Replying to @AgustinCordes
I like that one. A well spent $3 mil. Very cheap by today's standards. I like Scott Derrikson.

I liked a bunch of stuff in it. Especially the super-8 murder sequences. Creepy.

If you still haven't figured out what Hotline Miami was REALLY about, the fantastic @Campster breaks it down for you: http://youtu.be/AixOBp15KdI
Now Amazon owes me $19.98. Time to finally put the kettle on and enjoy a movie while fighting a cold.
Would I have liked John Dies at the End if I haven't read the book? Because unfortunately it doesn't even remotely compare.
It's basically the first half of the book minus Vegas plus the very end of the second book. Some changes are strange. Like renaming the dog.
Replying to @AveTory
It's not bad, it's just the book was too damn awesome. I might have liked it more if I didn't know about the book.
Replying to @AveTory
The hint is this - read the fucking book. It's awesome.
Replying to @AveTory
Actually now I'm not sure if watching the movie will kill some of the book. Dammit. I don't know. You decide.

I'm not discouraging from watching the flick though. It's still fun.
