James Gunn is one of his best. Watch "Super". A superb cross-genre picture. (Not horror though.)
Replying to @AveTory
Why? James Gunn wrote Tromeo & Juliet and is in like 5 Troma flicks. Hardly a surprise.
@AveTory Plus, you don't have to be a Troma alumni to have Kaufman in your flick. Just look at Neveldine/Taylor's Crank 2 or Gamer.
@AveTory Lloyd does a lot of cameos in independent movies. He was even a French flick with Dominique Pinon once.
Replying to @AveTory
It wasn't. Troma just distributes it. South Park was originally Tromaville though.

Yes, the trailer plays on the nostalgia with it's logos and music, but the rest just doesn't look too exciting.
I put a lot of hours into ROTT back in the day, and I mean A LOT. But can you play it for more than an hour now? I doubt it.
It's a horribly unbalanced game that really gets to you after a while. Yes, it has a lot of cool shit, but nothing feels like it belongs.
It just feels like a bunch of cool stuff was thought of and then thrown in to make a game, but the elements never come together.
Cool stuff is the game's biggest feature AND also its biggest drawback. And, of course, boring and repetitive gameplay.
Yeah, dogmode is cool. So what? #ROTT
Replying to @RobertNaytor
I'm not gonna debate. Engine is not an issue. It's a fun game, but playing it now is like playing Wolf3D - just for nostalgia.

And I love Wolf3D. Just recently blasted through 3 episodes on I'm Death Incarnate. Eventually it becomes too repetitive.

Another World ports are a whole different story with each version somehow different for all others.

Doom ports are also abundant, but they are mostly shit.

Replying to @AdamZwakk
I don't give two shits about it.
Forgot about Max Payne on the GBA! That game was awesome! Easy as hell, but it pulled off quite a few things. All voices in cutscenes intact
Of course it's not really a "port" in my opinion, but I had to mention it. And also "Driver" on the GBC.

Jace Hall's intentions regarding the Blood update are still a mystery to me. He says it will take resources to do it. Ok...
So why not give the source to fans who usually have enough determination & dedication to do almost anything? People have been waiting.
Did the abundance of quality source ports not prove anything? EDuke32 is great. Why not hand over the source to the same team?
He wants to add something specific? Well, Ken Silverman contributed the first 6DOF renderer for Build & that was still open source.
Why announce to the community that you're doing an update if nothing is yet ready & you're not planning on using the community anyway?
All that being said, I'd really like to see a proper Blood port for Windows. Please make it happen.

Black Christmas is decent. Predates Halloween on pretty much everything.
Replying to @AveTory
Yeah, but BC must as well be the first "standard" slasher. Established most of the "rules" & is now largely forgotten because of H.
Replying to @AveTory
Yeah, haven't seen it cause I couldn't be bothered. Halloween looses out a lot today because it has everything that became a cliche
Replying to @AveTory
It still has a great deal of suspense, great Panavision cinematography courtesy of Dean Cundey and, of course, Carpenter's staging.
Replying to @AveTory
But I think if I was young and watching it now for the 1st time I wouldn't understand what's so great about it.
Replying to @AveTory
Yeah, but I think it's because you know the background. A lot of it plays just waay too familiar.
Replying to @AveTory
Don't get me wrong, I love it & I enjoy it a lot, but I'd say a 15 year old who has seen a ton of new slashers prob wouldn't get it
Replying to @AveTory
Trust me though, a 15 year old will gets scared shitless from Exorcist. I've checked. Now that's a tense movie that's forever.
Replying to @AveTory
Yeah, but they all saw H2 and were very disappointed. Then they bought the director's cut dvd & were disappointed even more.
Replying to @AveTory
I actually didn't mind Zombie's Halloween so much because I though all the extra stuff was kind of fun.
Replying to @AveTory
Especially considering how many Carpenter remakes are out there (and in works), it's definitely the best one.

Every couple of years I dig up the System Shock cd to see if it might work for me this time, but it never does.

No controversies on my account this morning. I'm in a game-loving mood today.
Who loves games? I love games! What games do I love? Well, mostly fps and adventures. And platformers... Now, where was I going with this?
I even love games that I haven't played in years. Still love them. Like, why would I torture myself by playing Elite again? But I love it.
I'm older and spoiled and don't have much patience for such games anymore. They feel like a full time job. I already got one.

Replying to @AveTory
You just assume the game is Russian when I say "it's bad"? It's not. it's a commercially successful adventure game. And it sucks.
Replying to @AveTory
Yeah, that's in the future. Indeed I'm still stuck with FMV. Then a few games with no common theme. Then Russian games.
Replying to @AveTory

Doom 3 had its moments. First hour in it was pretty cool. After that just got too repetitive & boring.
RT @SierraWallpaper: Creator Lori Cole's personal favorite, QUEST FOR GLORY: SHADOWS OF DARKNESS (1993) is now up! http://ow.ly/dk8DP ...
RT @grumpygamer: Only 58 hours left to help fund the amazing @deirdrakiai 's amazing stop motion musical detective adventure game! http: ...

It has exactly one good moment in it. The rest is dreadful.

Told you. We'll discuss it later. :)
YAY! A day without construction going on at my place! It's so quiet! Plans for today: Enemy of the State, Hiruko the Goblin and Kuffs
It's been 20 years since Kuffs came out? Damn... #timeflies

I don't think there will ever be a game with my name in the title.

Please stop right there.
RT @lazygamereviews: It's not Friday, but who cares? Lode Runner Online Mad Monks Revenge review is up!... http://fb.me/220HwOCH3

It looks like Slater is finally making a return, so maybe one day the Hollywood reboot-sequel machine will trip over Kuffs.
Ouch. It looks like I won't be buying Kuffs soundtrack: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B000025SVR/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=used

I'm not a fan, but I'd check out this new cut of it that got restored this year. Sounds interesting.
So the Raimi-produced PG-13 Jewish horror flick "The Possession" is getting rather good reviews. Hmmm... I guess I'll check it out then.

Not yet. Barker was asking for testimonies earlier in the year to convince the studio to give him a shot at it.

I fucking adore early Dune, with Katin. And a couple of albums after he left were pretty good too, although more on the funny side

Фирма, Блонда and Восток-Алтай. Awesome songs. Well and Страна Лимония of course, but that goes without saying.
Replying to @AveTory
I knew every single Dune song by heart in 93. And I mean every single one. Фирма is one of my favorites to this day.

That's so weird. I didn't think that at all. All my friends loved it too though. Music videos definitely helped.

Eventually ended up recording an album for kids though. That sucked. Early stuff by Katin is still the best. Гороскоп :D

Another thing that surprises me a lot is Rybin's attempts to get his wife famous. Старый Сарай by their РВСН duet debuted in 92!

Both Senchukova and RVSN lasted surprisingly long. Октябрятская-Партизанская is my favorite non-Katin Dune song. Great video too.

So I'm watching the Октябрятская - Партизанская music video right now and ПИЗДЕЦ конопля в поле с октябрятами! (pardon my Russian)
And now it's Meet the Feebles time!
So Joe Dante's new movie is actually coming out now? THREE years later? Hopefully it's not a complete pile of shit.
Do I want to watch American Movie before I go to sleep?... Yes, yes I do.
Screw it. Gonna listen to the Electric Zoo live stream. As usual I can't attend because I have work at 6:30 in the morning tomorrow.
